Downtown Harrison’s rich history dates back to the late 1700s when the first small settlements appeared west of the Great Miami River. This area later became known as Harrison and West Harrison.
It is also known as the site where Confederate General John Hunt Morgan and his troops, Morgan’s Raiders, passed through like a storm, stealing anything they could from farms, stores and other dwellings during the Civil War and leaving a mark that would not soon be forgotten.
